With this method the implant is placed immediately after the tooth is extracted, in the socket its root has just left. This is called immediate implantation, and it requires a bone substitute to fill the socket around the implant. In some cases the crowns can be fitted straight after placement, without waiting for the implant to integrate with the bone - so-called immediate loading. Its advantage is that the missing tooth or teeth are replaced at once. The SKY Fast & Fixed concept of the German company BREDENT GROUP is for patients who have lost all their teeth, or are about to. With a minimum number of implants - six in the upper jaw and four in the lower - it restores all of a patient's teeth with fixed restorations.
The main benefit for patients is a completely new temporary fixed restoration within 48 hours. The concept makes use of the existing bone and avoids additional surgery such as a sinus lift or bone grafting. What is unique about the concept is the position of the rear implants - angled in the jawbone. This arrangement lets the implants be stabilised immediately after surgery, and they integrate with the bone without difficulty within three to four months. Implants are also used to hold full dentures in place, especially in the lower jaw.
Four implants in the lower jaw can hold a full denture securely even where the alveolar bone has resorbed completely, so that the patient can eat in comfort.
